How to Apply

Step 1:

Complete the International Student Application Form and pay the non-refundable application fee of $200.00 by cash, money order (in Canada only and payable to “The University of Winnipeg”), VISA/MC, Interac, or wire transfer using FlyWire.

To apply for Spring Session (April 2021), complete the 2020-21 International Student Application.

Step 2:

Include with your application the following documents:

»  An official transcript of all high school credits completed and an interim report card if you are currently in school.

»  A copy of the biographic page from your passport.

»  Results of an official English language assessment. For a list of English exempt countries, please visit English Language Requirements.

»  Email address for your current English teacher (an academic evaluation will be requested).

Note: Additional requirements such as a writing sample and/or a Skype/phone interview may be requested after submission of your application package.

Step 3:

The application package can be submitted by mail, fax, email or in – person.

Step 4:

Successful applicants will be notified by email with an ‘Offer of Acceptance’ letter.  The letter will confirm grade level placement and request a full tuition deposit to be paid prior to the release of the Official Acceptance Package.

Step 5:

Upon receipt of the tuition deposit, The Collegiate will issue the Official Acceptance Package. The package will include documents to be submitted by the student to the Canadian High Commission. A Custodian Declaration (for students under 18) will also be provided.

Step 6:

Apply for UWinnipeg Homestay or UWinnipeg Residence (over 18 only).

»  Arrival information

Step 8:

Upon arrival to The Collegiate, a personal interview and language assessment may be conducted by the International Student Advisor. The results of the interview and assessment will be used to confirm grade level placement and registration. An orientation will also be provided.
