The University of Winnipeg Collegiate

Performing Arts at the Collegiate

The Collegiate offers performing arts courses for students who are passionate about singing, playing musical instruments, or dramatic arts.

Our drama classes run from grade nine through to twelve, and offer students a background in improv, character and scene development, as well as opportunities for performance.

The Collegiate’s  Young Artists Intensive course in Music  provides students with an opportunity to work with local music professionals, and participate in a recording session. Our music programs are offered in Bryce Hall, where we share renovated studio space with the Manitoba Conservatory of Music and Art (MCMA). Our partnership with MCMA also allows our students to discover their passion beyond the classroom, with opportunities to practice or have lessons over lunch or during spares in dedicated studio space, experience free recitals and performances, and participate in discounted theory courses, masterclasses, and free workshops.

As the proud academic partner of the Royal Winnipeg Ballet’s Ballet Academic Program, the Collegiate is also the home school of some of Winnipeg’s finest young dancers enrolled in the RWB’s professional division.
