UWC Alumni Report: Dr. Ken Hahlweg (Class of 1983) named to Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans list

Dr. Ken Hahlweg (UWC Class of 1983), family physician and the medical lead at Northern Connection Medical Centre, was named to Ace Burpee's latest "Top 100 Most Fascinating Manitobans" and has been recognized by Doctors Manitoba with a Special Award for Bravery for his role in stopping a knife attack at the Seven Oaks General Hospital.
The incident occurred on October 27, 2021. While near the hospital entrance, Dr. Hahlweg noticed a colleague being attacked by the assailant and quickly sprung into action. Dr. Hahlweg tackled and chased the attacker out of the hospital where police were able to apprehend him. The entire incident lasted less than one minute.
The UW Collegiate commends Dr. Hahlweg for this brave and heroic act. Well done!
