Lorette Lajoie Collegiate Memorial Scholarship Fund

This past March, The University of Winnipeg Collegiate lost their valued and beloved staff member, Lorette Lajoie.  Lorette worked at the Collegiate from 2016 - 2021 as the office assistant. Lorette filled the office with her contagious energy and smile, and will always be remembered for the positive relationships she built with students.  One of Lorette’s favourite annual activities was visiting every Folklorama pavilion where a Collegiate Student was involved. Lorette’s positivity and love for our students will be deeply missed by the Collegiate community. To honour Lorette’s impact on the Collegiate, the Collegiate has created the Lorette Lajoie Collegiate Memorial Scholarship Fund with an endowment they are seeding with $50,000.  

We encourage anyone who has been impacted by Lorette to make a gift in her memory. Gifts made to this fund will support Collegiate students entering into their second, third, or fourth year of studies, rewarding academics and contribution to the Collegiate Community. Our Collegiate students work extremely hard and receiving scholarship funding gives them confidence and positive reinforcement to continue down their academic path. A scholarship in Lorette’s name will be all the more of an inspiration to work hard and succeed.
