The Collegiate Alumni Association Launch will be the start of an exciting new chapter for The Collegiate and its alumni. We invite Collegiate alumni from far and wide to celebrate this milestone moment with us!
Date: Wednesday, September 14, 2022
Location: The Collegiate in Convocation Hall / Tony’s (Wesley Hall, 515 Portage Avenue) and Online
Time: 5:30 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Whether you attend in-person or online, this two-part, complimentary event is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow alumni and take a nostalgic trip back to Wesley Hall. The launch will begin with the inaugural meeting, followed by a wine and catered reception featuring a performance by folk-soul artist and alumnae Ila Barker! Alumni are welcome to join us for one or both parts of the evening.
Inaugural Meeting 5:30 – 6:00 p.m.
Notice is hereby given that the inaugural meeting of the Collegiate Alumni Association will be held at The Collegiate in Convocation Hall / Tony’s (Wesley Hall, 515 Portage Avenue) and online on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 starting at 5:30 p.m.
Agenda:
- Call to Order
- Procedural: Notice & Quorum, Bylaw No. 1: Motion, Discussion and Vote
- Election of Directors: Nominees, Other Nominees, Vote or Acclamation
- Other Business, Termination
The inaugural meeting documents are as follows:
- The formal notice of the inaugural meeting to be held on September 14, 2022;
- The draft Bylaw #1 which will be submitted to the meeting for approval; and
- Bio information on the five nominees for Voting Directors of the Collegiate Alumni Association.
Wine & Catered Reception 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.
Once Collegiate history has been made at the inaugural meeting, it’s time to celebrate! In-person attendees will be treated to wine and catering by Diversity Foods. One complimentary drink ticket is included, but those who attend both parts of the evening will receive two! Online attendees will enjoy all of the evening’s entertainment from the comfort of home, including a live music performance by Ila Barker at 7:30 p.m.
There is no cost for the event, but due to limited in-person capacity, we do require proof of registration at the door. In-person attendees are welcome to invite one guest and registered virtual attendees will receive instructions on how to access the event online.

Would you like to share a Collegiate memory, give a shout out to your favourite faculty member, or send out a personalized greeting to your class? Alumni are welcome to contribute a short message that will be shared at the launch event as part of a special video presentation. You can easily record and submit your video via The Collegiate’s Memento link until Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

For the last ten years, Collegiate faculty member Gerry Narynski has been adding to a music playlist of Collegiate alumni artists. As part of the Association launch, we will be sharing a special edition of Mr. Narynski’s Alumni Playlist! If you have alumni musician suggestions for the playlist, email e.anciro@uwinnipeg.ca.
